Microsoft Baseline Security Analyzer
Written by Terry Watts

You can never be to careful when it comes to protecting your file servers and important workstations.  Windows Update doesn't always provide all the current updates and security patches to protect your systems.

Microsoft has a free solution that will help to identify security problems in your network.  It is called the Microsoft Baseline Security Analyser.

I would recommend running the tool after you have installed a new server so that you can be sure that the computer is patched to the latest security and protected against attacks.

The tool is easy to use and allows you to scan an entire network subnet or domain.  The reporting is very friendly and allows you to compare a workstations and servers.  The reports also contain links to the Microsoft website of where you can download the latest updates from.

This is another one of those Microsoft tools that you don't always think about using.  So now that you know about it you can download and try it out today.

You can read more and download the tool using the link below.
